A man collapsed and died after a short illness in Pece vanguard Cell, Laroo-Pece division in Gulu City leaving his neighours and local leaders in panic.
The deceased only identified as Kilama collapsed and died at around 4:00 pm inside his house.
Andrew Nyeko, the Local Council One Chairperson Pece Vanguard Cell confirmed the incident saying he the deceased was suffering from unknown illness and had never sought medical attention.
Nyeko said they were stuck with the body because they are unable to trace the family of the deceased who never register with his office.
Joseph Happy Mumbere, the acting Gulu District Police Commander told Mega Fm that they informed the Gulu city coronavirus taskforce to handle the matter amidst fear that the deceased could have had Covid-19.
Geoffrey Topiny Onyuta, the Gulu City Health educator did not answer our repeated calls when contacted for a comment.
