Local authorities of Pajule Town Council in Pader district are hunting for a 17-year old boy alleged to be armed with an AK 47 Riffle.
The teenager together with a colleague identified as Rafael Okello aged 18 are reportedly used the gun to try and rob traders at around 10:00pm on Thursday.
The suspects are said to have fired two bullets in the air in an attempt to scare the traders whose vehicle had broken down enroute from Lira to Kitgum.
The suspects are all residents of Ogan Kanakok East village in Palwo Parish, Pajule Sub County.
Okello Tito Brilliant, the L.C111 Chairperson Pajule Town Council said the authorities rushed to the scene and arrested Rafael Okello and handed him to Pader Central Police Station while his accomplice managed to escape with the gun.
Okello said they are doing a joint operation with the police to hunt for the teenager who has caused a lot of fear in the community.
He urged the teenager to peacefully hand himself over to the authorities.
Tom Bainomugisha, the Pader District Police Commander confirmed the incident but declined to give details.
