Pabbo Quarantine Center Cooks Protest Delayed Pay


Four people employed at Pabbo quarantine centre in Amuru district have laid down their tools in protest for not being paid for the past three months. They include 2 cooks and 2 cleaners.

Each cook earns 20,000 per day while a cleaner gets 10,000 shillings a day, totaling to 5.4 million shillings in arrears.

Doctor Patrick Odong Olwedo, the Amuru District health Officer has confirmed the development saying the district was yet to receive money from the government.

Geoffrey Oceng Orsbon, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner says that for the last three months, the district has not received any money from the government.

By today, Pabbo Quarantine Centre was housing 61 Covid-19 suspects.
