Nwoya chairman says political affiliation killing council business

Patrick Okello Oryema, the L.C V chairman Nwoya has accused Nwoya district councilors of failing to approve a supplementary budget over what he termed uncalled for individual fights arising from affiliation to different political parties
Nwoya district has 21 councilors who include nine independents, seven from National Resistance Movement, three from Democratic Party’s and two from the Forum for Democratic Change.
They last week refused to approve a supplementary budget of 1.7 billion shillings after district technocrats failed to produce a financial report for the 2015/2016financial year.
Oryema says the councilors should be blamed for any crisis that may arise after they failed to approve the supplementary budget.
Nwoya in July 2016 approved a budget of 13.5 billion shillings for the 2016/2017 financial year.
