Nine Arrested In Gulu For Violating Social Distancing
Nine people including seven women and two men were over the weekend arrested from a witchdoctor’s shrine in Industrial area, Layibi division in Gulu Municipality for violating the social distancing directive issued by government to prevent the spread of corona virus.
The suspects who were arrested on Friday were found naked smoking pipes at a shrine located behind the home of Otti Jino, the L.C 1 of industrial area.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa River region police spokesperson told Mega FM that the women calmed to have gone to consult with the traditional healers on their ailments
The nine were arrested by a joint team comprising of the army, police and local council one (LC I) members of industrial area after a tip off by community members who saw the group enter the shrine.
Raymond Thomas Opira, the local council one chairperson Pabo quarters in Layibi division told Mega FM that the nine were found smoking the pipes and calling names of people they wanted to be in love relationships with.
