MP Akol In Nasty Road Accident
The Kilak north county Member of Parliament Anthony Akol was on Tuesday morning involved in a nasty road accident on Gulu-Kampala highway.
MP Akol, travelling in vehicle Reg. No UBF 566G Land cruiser V8, overturned in the areas of Kagera in Ibanda Sub County, Masindi district at around 8am.
The MP and three other occupants of the vehicle were rushed to Kiryandongo hospital. Their conditions were not yet known by press time.
The Albertine region police spokesman Julius Hakiza confirmed the accident, saying one of the vehicle tyres burst causing it to loose control and overturned.
This is the second time the MP is being involved in a nasty road accident on Gulu-Kampala highway.
In April this year, the MP was rushed to hospital following an accident that occurred the areas of Kafu River in Nakasongola district at around 1:00 am.
Several members of Parliament have been involved in accidents in the past months when heading to or returning from their constituencies.
Late last year, Aruu County MP Odonga Otto was also involved in an accident in Nakasongola district.
