More Factories Came Up During Lockdown – Museveni
President Yoweri Museveni has said the coronavirus lockdown gave a chance for some industries to come due to the demand for their services to fight the pandemic.
In his State of the Nation Address on Thursday, Museveni said up 107 companies have registered to manufacture sanitizers from just two before the pandemic.
He said up to 61 companies have requested to make masks although only ten have been certified at the moment.
He adds that Personal Protective Equipment (PPESs) are also being produced in the country.
The President said government will put 100bn shillings in the Uganda Development Corporation, a government body that promotes and facilitates the industrial and economic development of Uganda.
