Water access will soon improve in Omoro district after the Ministry of Water and Environment offered to rehabilitate 30 of the broken boreholes in the district.
Okello Peter Douglas Okao, the Omoro District Chairperson said the ministry’s support is off budget.
He adds that the ministry has already procured a contractor who has started work which is estimated to cost 210 million shillings.
With a safe water coverage of 60%, Omoro district has 493 boreholes but 203 of them are not functional.
Okello said the district was already finding difficulties in rehabilitating them.
