Man Donates Fuel to Gulu Taskforce
A south Sudan based Uganda citizen has donated 200liters of fuel to the Gulu district corona virus task force to facilitate emergency response activities.
Geoffrey Otobe handed the donation to the Task Force through the Gulu district local government chairperson Ojara Martin Mapenduzi.
ILA-Uganda, a local NGO operating at the South Sudan refugee camp in Lamwo district also donated 15 boxes of laundry soap and 200,000= to the Task force.
Gulu District covid-19 Task Force has been hard hit by lack of fuel for vehicles supposed to facilitate emergency response activities.
The task force needs a minimum of 80 litres of fuel every 24 hours or cash equivalent of one million Shillings for the ambulances to respond to emergencies.
The Task Force has been rallying the business community; well-wishers and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to contribute in-kind to help them combat the spread of the virus but little has been achieved.
The committee budgeted for 327 million Shillings for medical supplies and equipment to enhance its preventive measures.
