Man Arrested For Smashing Windscreen Of Police Vehicle


Police in Amuru is holding a man identified as Joel Kakanyero allegedly for smashing the windscreen of a police vehicle during operation to implement the presidential directive on night curfew that runs from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

The suspect allegedly stoned the police vehicle on Sunday evening at around 8:00 pm after it stopped at Olwal trading centre in Lamogi sub county.

Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa River Region Police spokesperson has confirmed the incident, warning the residents against provoking police officers implementing lawful orders.

Meanwhile, two youth were also arrested on Sunday allegedly for setting ablaze a house belonging to a member of the Lamogi Sub County Coronavirus Task.

The suspects identified as Robinson Ochora and Gaji, all residents of Olwal, allegedly set on fire a house belonging to Aboda Francis Olanya.

According to Okema, the two accused the Task Force Members of giving police information about their hidden drinking joint.

Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa River region Police Spokesperson says the two will be charged with Arson.
