Ker Kwaro Acholi Kicks off Fundraising Drive For COVID-19
Ahe Acholi Cultural Institution- Ker Kwaro Achol has launched a fundraising drive to collect money to support government in the fight against COVID 19.
Rwot David Onen Acana II, the paramount chief of Acholi is now appealing to all the Acholi both in the Diaspora and in the country to support the cultural institution.
In his speech delivered by the prime Minster Ambrose Olaa, the Chief who is reportedly out of the country said the president has always supported Acholi and now its high time Acholi returned the favour.
Olaa said for anybody with a contribution can contact 0772459444 and 0774347200 for directions adding that modalities of the fundraising will be communicated on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, James Nabinson Kidega, the Lamwo Resident District Commissioner was the first to contribute 200,000 shillings.
On 30th March, the president asked Ugandans to support the government with whatever they have to help in the fight against the deadly COVID 19.
Buganda and Bunyoro, Lango have already contributed 100 million, 60 million and 7.2 million shillings respectively to government towards the fight against COVID19 which has an infection toll of 55.
