Juveniles Who Escaped From Gulu Remand Home Re-arrested
Police in Gulu have re-arrested two of the 30 minor offenders who escaped from Gulu Remand Home in Gulu Municipality on Monday evening.
According to Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa River region police spokesperson, the two suspects are being held at Gulu central police station.
The juveniles reportedly overpowered the facility in-charge, Joseph Kilama who had taken for them food.
According to reports, the inmates forced their way out of the facility and jumped over the gate before escaping to various destinations.
The group is part of 69 inmates that was locked up at the facility.
They were picked up from Nwoya, Gulu, Kitgum and Pader districts, which are found in Acholi region.
Gulu Central Police Station is investigating a case of escape from lawful custody vide CRB 264/2020.
