Health center II excites local residents of Lakwor Parish
Health care has finally become easily accessible for the community of Lakwor parish in Lagoro Sub-county, Kitgum district following the commissioning of Lakwor health centre 11.
The health facility worth 38 million shillings was funded through local revenue.
Construction of the health which started in 2007 took long to be complete due to challenges in raising local revenue.
Otema Robert, a resident of Balakwar village in Lakwor parish says they have been walking 10kms to Lagoro health centre to access health care.
Elizabeth Atoo, a 38- year old mother of 6 of Wan Kworo village says access to antenatal care has been a challenge for pregnant women.
Bosco Cankura Ongom, the L.C3 chairperson Lagoro Sub County, attributed the completion of the health facility to the dedicated political and technical staffs.
He also disclosed plans to upgrade the facility to a health centre 111 in the future
Dr Alex Olwedo, the Kitgum District Health Officer says the district will ensure the facility gets the necessary equipment and drugs from the National Medical Stores.
