Gulu: University Student Arrested Over Protest


A third-year student of Education at Gulu University who was on Wednesday arrested for threatening violence has been released on police bond after spending a night in police custody.

Ajoli Boniface and other government-sponsored students on Wednesday went to the administration block protesting delays in payment of their living allowances.

However, according to reports, Ajoli jumped behind the table at the reception and started banging the table while shouting extremely, causing his arrest.

Ronald Acaye, the deputy officer in charge of criminal investigation at Gulu central police station said Ajoli was released on bond pending investigations.
