Gulu Task Force Member Tests Positive For Covid-19
A member of the Gulu District Covid-19 Task Force was on Sunday admitted at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital after testing positive for Covid-19.
The member who belongs to the laboratory committee who are charge with helping in harvesting samples for test tested positive after he underwent for a voluntary test upon suspecting he might have contracted the disease.
According to Michael Chankara, the Gulu district disease surveillance officer, they are now listing and tracing contacts of the patient.
This is the first case of a member of the Gulu District Task Force testing positive for the virus since the outbreak. The case comes at a time when the district is witnessing a spike in the community infections.
The Gulu task force has at least five committees of Resource mobilization, Laboratory committee, risk communication, psycho-social support and the coordination committee.
