Gulu: Rotary Donates to Malnourished children
Rotary Club of Gulu has donated food items worth 250,000 shillings to 20 malnourished children at Gulu regional referral hospital nutritional unit.
Items handed over to their mothers include sugar, laundry soap, millet powder and G-nuts powder.
Sandra Auma, a communications officer at Rotary Club of Gulu says most mothers lack information on how to prevent such condition.
Malnutrition is often used to specifically refer to undernutrition where an individual is not getting enough calories, protein, or micronutrients.
If undernutrition occurs during pregnancy, or before two years of age, it may result in permanent problems with physical and mental development.
