Gulu RDC Warns Police Over Sale of Police Form
Police at Gulu Central Police station are under investigation on allegations of selling police Form 3 to victims of sexual and gender based crimes.
In 2018 Uganda Police Force (UPF) scrapped off postmortem and medical examinations fees for survivors of sexual and gender based crimes.
However, reports have emerged that police at Gulu central police station were selling the form to survivors of sexual and gender based crimes.
At least 200 cases of gender based crimes have been registered in Aswa River region in the past three months.
Maj. Okot Santos Lapolo, the Gulu Resident City Commissioner says this illegal practice is exacerbating gender based crimes in the region.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa River Region Police spokesperson has since asked victims of such illegal acts to report perpetrators to the authority.
