Gulu: RDC cautions communication officers on professionalism
Gulu Resident District Commissioner, Major Santos Okot Lapolo has asked District Communication officers in Acholi and Lango sub-region to remain professional and ensure that they work hard to make the grassroots persons and people outside Gulu get a constant update on what is happening in their districts without misinforming the public.
Major Lapolo was speaking during a one-day training of the communication officers in the two sub-region from Office of the prime minister boardroom on Thursday
He said communication is a very important aspect of the development of any institution and the district communication officers should take their job seriously.
Ducan Abigaba manager Government citizen Interaction Center in the Ministry of Communication, Information and technology said they had to train the district communication officers to empower them so that the district websites, social media pages sells their districts.
Axuma Geoffrey and Atim Diana both Nwoya and Kwania district communication officers said the training was supportive.
In 2017 the Ministry of ICT met the district communication officers and assured them of regular training including some benefits like Laptops, motorcycles that have not yet been.
