Gulu COVID-19 Positive Cases Rise To 61


Four new confirmed COVID-19 cases, all truck drivers, were last night admitted to the COVID-19 isolation ward at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital bringing the total number of patients there to 61.

Three of the new patients were intercepted from Elegu Border post in Atiak Sub County, Amuru District while one was intercepted at Don Petrol station in Gulu Town.

Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa River Regional Police Spokesperson said the suspect was allegedly hiding in a tomato box in a cargo truck destined for Kampala.

Loum Bishop, the In-Charge of COVID-19 Case Management

Bishop Janani Loum, the integrated disease surveillance officer at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital says the driver of the cargo truck was taken into quarantine at Gulu College of Health sciences in Laroo.
