Four Shot Dead At General Otema’s Farm In Nwoya
At least four people were last night shot dead and several others sustained bullet injuries after they allegedly raided a farm belonging to Lt Gen Otema Charles Awany, the Reserve Force Commander, in Obira village, Got Apwoyo Sub County in Nwoya district.
The four have been identified as Onencan Socrates 29, Tabu Innocent 21, Ocakacon Hudson 26 and Jawiambe Edmond.
The deceased and others still at large allegedly raided the farm between 9-10pm before they were repulsed by armed UPDF soldiers guarding the farm.
Maj. Caesar Olweny, the UPDF 4th Public Relations Officer says the suspects, numbering about 70, were armed with spears and bows and arrows.
According to Olweny, the assailants retreated a cross River Nile into Pakwach district. Olweny adds that the motive of the attack is not yet known.
When contacted, Gen. Otema says he was in Kampala when the attacked happened.
