Four Meters Distance Impossible At Gulu Main Market
The designs of stalls at Gulu main market is making it difficult for the vendors to observe a distance of 4 meters from each individual as a precautionary measure to avoid the spread of Coronavirus Disease COVID-19.
The stalls are two meters apart, with a walk way of two meters to the next raw.
However, the vendors were by Tuesday following the presidential directive to only sell food items.
Hand washing facilities have also been placed at all the entrances to the market.
Meanwhile, security agencies on Tuesday closed most nonfood stores in Gulu town in line with the presidential directive to prevent the spread of the virus.
Despite the directive, a man identified as Tom Job Acire, a resident of Koro-abili in Koro sub county, Omoro district tried to obstruct law enforcement officers who were dispersing eight individuals found seated together and playing cards.
According to the directive, gatherings of more than five persons have been prohibited, as well as operations of salons and lodges, across the country.
