Christopher Odongkara, the former Pabbo Sub-County LC 3 Chairperson in Amuru district is on remanded for alleged land fraud.
He appeared on Tuesday before Amuru Grade I Magistrate Susan Anyeko who remanded him to Otwee Prison until June 15 when he returns to court.
Prosecution told court that on April 3, 2021, Odongkara accompanied by rowdy youth forcefully fenced off a plot of land measuring 21×36 meters in Agoro Cell, Luzira Parish in Pabbo Township that belongs to Jennifer Aceng, a widow.
Norbert Omony, the brother to Aceng’s late husband Abraham Lincoln told Mega Fm that they reported the matter to police at Pabbo Police Station. He however, says that police failed to follow-up on the matter because of the influence of the LC 3 chairperson.
Omony further revealed that they approached Amuru Police Station in Otwee Town Council but didn’t get any help prompting them to turn to Aswa River Regional police headquarters in Gulu City.
A plain cloth detective from the headquarters backed by three armed police officers from Pabbo trailed Odongkara to his office where he had gone to hand over to his successor. He was arrested and swiftly whisked away to Otwee Police Station on charges of land fraud before he was arranged before the Grade I Magistrate court and remanded to prisons.
