Charles Omoro, the embattled head teacher of Lapirin Primary School in Agago district has been suspended from duty on allegations of absenteeism and neglect of duty.
This was during a meeting organised by the District Officials on Friday to give him a chance to defend himself, following the accusations.
Omoro was also accused by parents for mismanaging PTA funds worth two million Uganda shillings.
In the meeting, the School Management committee appointed Albainus Lakidi to caretaker as head teacher of the school for the meantime.
In a surprised move, Omoro admitted to the accusations of absenteeism and neglect of duty and asked to be demoted to classroom teacher.
The secretary education Agago district, Cosmas James Okidi says they are yet to decide on an appropriate punishment for Omoro.
