Elegu Under Lock-Down After First Covid-19 Community Case
Amuru district Covid-19 Task Force has put Elegu town council under lock-down after it registered a case of community infection in the area.
Reports have also emerged that a number of foreigners were sneaking into it from the neighboring South Sudan which has recorded more cases of Covid-19
The Task force has since banned movements of vehicles from and to Elegu with the exception of cargo trucks going to South Sudan for 14 days.
According to the district chairperson Michael Lakony, the lock-down is aim at identifying community infection cases and disrupting its further spread.
Currently, Gulu regional referral hospital, the designated hospital for treatment of Covid-19 cases in Acholi sub region, is treating 14 confirmed active cases.
