Covid-19 Positive Truck Driver Intercepted In Amuru
A truck driver who tested positive for Covid-19 was on Thursday intercepted in Pabbo Sub County in Amuru district while heading to South Sudan.
The patient, driving truck registration number UBG 462/M, was intercepted at around 2am.
The Amuru district health officer Dr, Patrick Odong Olwedo says they were waiting for a team from the Ministry of Health and the National Task Force to evacuate the patient since Gulu Regional Referral Hospital is now full.
The case is part of 1,497 samples that were tested on Wednesday.
This brings the number of confirmed cases for truck drivers to 145 and cases in the country to 274.
In a related development, Amuru district Task Force on Wednesday intercepted three Uganda Nationals who illegally entered the country from South Sudan through the porous border crossings.
One of them was immediately rushed and admitted to Atiak health center IV since he was having serious cough and flu while the other two were taken to Pabbo secondary school quarantine center.
