The Gulu Archdiocese Archbishop Dr John Baptist Odama has asked candidates and the electorate to respect the outcome of the results.
According to Archbishop Odama, leaders who will indulge in causing violence after elections will in the future be disturbed by their conscience.
The run-up to Thursday’s elections has been marred by violence and brutality by security personnel.
In November more than 50 people were killed and several others injured by security personnel during protests following the arrest of NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi.
President Museveni who is seeking for the sixth term in office is being challenged by ten other presidential candidates intending to bring to an end his 35 years’ leadership since taking over power in 1986.
