Another Floods At Elegu Border Town
The flood prone Elegu border town in Amuru district has flooded again, exactly one month, after it flooded on July, 26, 2020 after River Unyama burst its banks.
According to reports, the floods made a landfall at the border town last night, sending the residents scampering for dear lives.
Michael Lakony, the Amuru district LC5 chairperson says the eastern part of Elegu Town Council is now under water.
The latest incident comes less than five hours after the July 26, 2020 victims had received relief supplies from the office of the prime minister.
Flooding at Elegu border town has been consistent since 2018 with River Unyama bursting its banks every rainy season.
