Anaka Sub county chairperson office open after a long mediation]
The office of Anaka Sub County L.C3 chairperson in Nwoya district was on Tuesday reopened after it was on Monday closed by councillors who accused the chairperson, Geoffrey Opobo of abuse of office.
The office was opened in the afternoon after the Nwoya Resident District Commissioner-Akello Agnes Ebong held a mediation meeting with the councillors and chairperson.
Nelson Mandela Okello, the Anaka Sub County speaker told Mega FM that they agreed to reopen the office after the chairpersons apologized for his actions.
The councillors had accused the chairperson of taking bribes from both parties involved in land conflicts and also under minding the area land committees and sub-county land committees.
They also accused him of giving away 70 hectors of community land to Nusaf 3 project for tree planting without approval from council and also making resolutions on behalf of council.
The chairperson-Opobo told Mega FM that he was organizing to meet with the councillors at a later date to address the issues presented during a meeting with the RDC.
