Anaka: Inadequate road reserves affect water expansion
Plans by National Water and Sewerage Corporation to expand water coverage in Anaka town council have been hampered by inadequate space on road reserves.
Anaka Town Council currently has pipe water coverage of 16.8 km.
Selsa Adong, the branch manager National Water and Sewerage Corporation Anaka said that the road reserves are not clearly demarcated which has sometimes led to water pipes being put on private plots.
Samuel Otema the physical planner for Anaka town council said they currently don’t have funds to mark road reserves.
Otema said the district only receives funds for maintenance of roads.
