Lajalula Primary School in Lujoro Village, Pai-lyech Parish in the newly created Lakang Sub County, Amuru district after their latrines got filled up.
The community school on Monday sent home over 200 pupils fearing disease outbreak.
Richard Kinyera, one of the parents said he was notified by his child in primary four on Tuesday that they were told not to return to school until further notice.
Kinyera later agreed with the decision by school authorities after visiting the school and seeing the risk posed to the learners
Simon Oketta , the PTA chairperson said that the pit latrines were in a worrying state as maggots are all over the floor forcing pupils to defecate all over the compound.
He says they are now mobilising parents to build a new latrine so that lessons can resume next Monday.
Michael Lakony, the Amuru district chairperson said that they have submitted the name of the school for coding so that it benefits from government funding.
