Amuru Gets Mobile Laboratory To Fight COVID-19
In bid to boost the country’s capacity to test for COVID-19, governmnet is in the process of delivering a mobile laboratory to Elegu Border Town in Amuru District.
The mobile lab is one of the three government procured recently. The new mobile laboratory will also be used to test for Ebola.
Health Minister, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng revealed that the laboratory will be delivered to the Ugandan border town this week.
Aceng visited Elegu last Friday to assess its readiness to contain the spread of the deadly viral disease.
She adds that the other two mobile testing units, will be stationed in Mpondwe Border Post in Kasese district and Busia Border Crossing in eastern Uganda.
The Health Minister noted that the mobile labs are fully equipped to carry out the same function as a laboratory.
