A section of residents of Adillang sub county in Agago district on Monday held a demonstration in protest over the deteriorating security situation in the district.
This follows the killing of four people in the district in the past few days by suspected gunmen and a rise in cattle rustling in the district.
Those killed include Justine Ojara, a shop keeper and John Olea, the deputy head teacher of Abilnino Primary school who were shot dead on Thursday.
This comes less than 48 hours after two UPDF officers were shot and killed by suspected Karamojong warriors on Tuesday night.
However the demonstration came shortly after Police blocked members of the Acholi Parliamentary Group (APG) from visiting Adillang for not seeking for permission and clearance from the district security committee.
As the situation was unfolding, a group of residents carrying placards emerged accusing government of failing to protect the residents against attacks.
Emmanuel Okot, the RDC has since accused APG members of organizing the demonstration to gain political capital and public sympathy.
Agago district has witnessed a rise in gun violence and raids by suspected Karamojong cattle rustlers in the recent months.
