40 Gulu Residents Under Quarantine For Covid-19 Test
24 more Gulu residents who allegedly came into contact with a Kenyan truck driver who tested positive to Covid-19 have been taken into institutional quarantine, bringing the total number of the suspects at the Gulu College of Health Science in Laroo division, Gulu Municipality to 40.
The driver of truck registration number KCY 263X/ZG 1891 was on Monday morning intercepted at Sultan Energy Petrol Station in Layibi Division in Gulu.
16 were identified earlier in the day and 24 later in the day. Their samples have been taken for test at the Uganda Virus Research Institute, Entebbe.
The suspects and others still at large, according to reports, were seen socializing with the patient in a number of places including the petrol station and drinking joints.
The suspect is now admitted to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital for treatment.
This brings the number of infected drivers who have tested positive to 63 as of today and those admitted to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital to five.
