Five die in Karuma – Pakwach road accident


Five people perished in a road accident this morning on Karuma-Pakwach road after the vehicle they were travelling in hit a boda-boda rider at Adibuk Junction in Lii Sub-county, Nwoya district.
The accident happened at around 9:00am killing three people on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as William Okello, Monday Amusa and one only identified as Richard while two others whose names could not be established by press time died from Atapara health center where they were rushed to.
It is reported that the Boda-boda rider of motorcycle reg. no. 288F was knocked by the speeding Fuso truck registration number UAV 533T as the rider tried to cross the junction.
Nwoya District Police Commander, Dan Okello said the vehicle was carrying mainly traders going to a market day at Alero Sub County in Nwoya.
He said the driver of the truck handed himself to Kamdini police post.
Okello advised motorists to be careful on the road.
