A 56-year-old man has died in Adilang Town Council in Agago District in an apparent suicide after jumping into a burning house.
Okot Allandai, a resident of Lubiri Ward in Adilang Town Council reportedly set his grass-thatched hut on fire before entering the burning house.
The incident happened at around midnight on Thursday.
Mohammed Okwir, the Adilang Local Council III Chairperson, confirmed the incident adding that it not clear why Okot chose to end his life in such a barbaric manner.
Meanwhile, a 27-year-old man reportedly died during a fight at a drinking joint in Kobwor ward in Kalongo Town Council, Agago District.
Charles Opio died after he was allegedly assaulted by Paul Olweny.
The incident happened on Thursday night during a market day at Kobwor ward, within Kalongo Town Council.
According to reports, Olweny attacked the deceased hitting him several times after he complained that the latter has stepped on his foot.
Opio’s body has since been picked and taken to Dr Ambrosoli Memorial Hospital mortuary pending postmortem.
Police at Kalongo Police Station has opened investigations into the murder incident.
