Over 1,300 Ugandans who were by yesterday still stranded at Magwi, Torit in South Sudan have asked the government of Uganda to evacuate them saying they will die of hunger if not rescued.

The LC III Chairman Bardege Division in Gulu Municipality, Patrick Lumumba Oola told Mega FM today that he was informed by one James Okello, who is the Coordinator of the group that they are mostly people from Gulu who had gone to look for jobs with construction companies and NGOs who have since abandoned them.

They said that the evacuation which took place were only for Ugandans who were in and around Juba.
