Residents of Abonga village, in Amuru sub county, Amuru district are mourning the death of two siblings in a fire incident on Monday morning.
Langum Gifty, aged 2, and Robinson Rubangatwero, aged 4, were burnt to death after fire engulfed the grass thatched hut they were in at around 11am.
However, the deceased’s older brother identified as Odongkare Daniel, aged 5, managed to escape the inferno unhurt.
Their mother was reportedly in the field when the incident happened.
The cause of the fire outbreak is not yet known but unconfirmed reports say, the children were trying to lit fire to cook when the house caught fire.
The Aswa River Region police spokesman Jimmy Patrick Okema confirmed the incident, adding that police were investigating in the incident
